First try in my life -- Penang marathon 2014.
Decided to take part in fun run(7km) as it seemed like a terrific distance to me since I'm not a jog lover. But then i've tried the 7km and decided to take part again next year to challenge my limit of gasping air. Once you've started to run, you will soon be addicted to it. I am not a jog lover but still I enjoyed the beats of heart pumping fast and excessive sweating.
All the negative effect in your body are thrown out from your mind and soul. All you need to do is keep your head straight up and breathe. The ending is never end. Your journey is still on and your legs moving involuntary. There is a stage where you're running without consciousness because your mind is packed with this phrase "keep running!"
Looking at the person beside you, he is an old man, definitely older than you. He exceeds you and he keeps running till the finish line. at that time , you will question yourself "He can do it and so why can't I ?" Then, you will be motivated once again to continue your journey to the ending of the story.
In the journey, you may meet someone who likes to throw away their water bottle or cups everywhere. These are the people that may cause or create something annoys in your life. But what do I do? I ignore them and keep going. Do not expect me to pick it up and throw it in a rubbish bin as I will not help others to solve their problems when the problems are created by them.
You may meet someone who likes to push people away and being ignorance when someone is falling down because of him. Not even a glance given to my friend when the person push her and make her injured. What a shame for that particular person who just run away after this incident. People are selfish.
You may meet someone who likes to take selfie along the journey and you'll know that the social website is going to flood with the picture of them with hashtag of penang marathon 2014. It is indeed a memorable moment and I'm so regret that I didn't bring my cell phone with me when I am running on that bridge. Sigh. Whatever. But still, I think that bringing cell phone would be troublesome for me to jog with.
You may also meet someone who likes to do anything with her family. A child was walking on the bridge and started to cry just when we started to run. What her parents did was --they didn't carry her up--they cheer her up for walking a few more steps. What a lovely moment when i saw the girl started to smile and try to walk a few steps more towards her parents.
Running facing the Sun is no joke as me and my friends are all 3 tones darker than before. Gosh! But creating memories is much more important than that. By the way, we took bus to the Penang 2nd bridge and it was really an unforgettable moment for me as the bus was packed like sardines. I mean sardines than sardines, if you got what I mean. I can feel that I'm lack of oxygen when the bus is taking longer time than i expected to reach the destination. Horrible jam at the wrong time. Can you imagine that I'm gasping for air in the bus and I have to keep my head straight up and breathe harder than usual. It seems like I've started to jog while I was just standing inside an extremely packed bus. That's why I am having phobia of going to places flooded with people.
But ! everything has passed and I'm successfully done my mission. Next year might challenge 21km if I am still keep on my sometimes-jogging-schedule.
Have a good day everyone!=)
